Oct 2009: DysFest

EDEN Skills, is proud to be involved with DysFest. The first dyslexia film festival in the UK. It will be running from Monday 2-11-2009 to Friday 6-11-2009, starting from 6.15pm. This will be held at University College London (UCL). It’s FREE entry but there is a need to reserve a place.

The aim behind the festival is to look at the different ways dyslexia has been portrayed in films.

The Director of DysFest, Pietro Passarelli, like the Directors or EDEN Skills is dyslexic himself, which is why we get on with him beautifully. He is also self confessed geek with technology and works with us as a trainer. On the 5th of November we will be running a workshop on how to effectively us technology successfully for studies and in the workplace.

UnLtd is a charity which supports social entrepreneurs – people with vision, drive, commitment and passion who want to change the world for the better. We do this by providing a complete package of funding and support, to help these individuals make their ideas a reality.

EDEN Skills won an UnLtd Level 2 Award in June 2009 for their innovative work with dyslexic people around the UK.  UnLtd is excited by EDEN’s pioneering approach that recognises dyslexia as a learning difference rather than a learning difficulty. The UnLtd Award will support EDEN Skills to scale up the delivery of their training and branch out into new markets in order to benefit more people.
